The strength of
any company is not in a name but the people
behind it.
VMC Electric llc and ITS
Back in 1992, Independent Technology
Service Inc. was chosen by the original Fadal
owners to develop procedures and start production QC testing and
service repair for all the machine electronic circuit boards.
Chances are if you look on any CNC board, you’ll see the ITS
stamp on it. Signifying that the board has been processed by us;
both for In-Circuit Testing and our automatic Functional Tests to
ensure it meets all the original design specifications and that it has
the latest revisions.
VMC Electric was started by myself, one of the original family members
of Fadal Engineering Inc. and Vice President of Control Design until 1998.
Our goal, to provide high quality
Original
Equipment
Manufacture
from many of the original manufactures (suppliers) such as Baldor and Glentek,
plus repairs and
new replacement components for the Fadal machines.
And do this at the highest
value / lowest cost ratio to our customers while providing "old fashion"
personable service as before.
Today, we also continue building on the expertise afforded through close relationships
with many of the original equipment manufactures, utilizing their
tremendous engineering knowledge and experience. We also partner
with some of the original engineers that I worked with during my
career at Fadal Engineering. Nothing better than working with
those who originally designed and maintained the products we offer.
We truly are one of the most highly qualified
companies in regards all aspects of the Fadal machine.
Machining Experience That Counts:
Starting from the most important aspect of the machine; making
parts. Our background and machining experience is one of the
highest in the industry. Dating back before we started building
machines, as one of the premiere job shops in Southern California.
Specializing in making some of the most complicated and difficult
parts in the aerospace industry. Back in 1976, I personally
worked on the Viking and Voyager projects plus many other projects
for Hughes Aircraft company. Of course that was before CNC, at
that time is was simply NC (Numerical Control) and paper tape.
We also spent many days standing at the Bridgeport making parts the
hard way.
So not only do we know how to build machines, we
know how to use them!
Engineering
Experience That Counts:
- Machine and Control design, starting in 1974 at Fadal, before the very first VMC45 machine.
- Personally worked directly with the Fadal OEMs in the design/testing
of many control software features and the associated electronic components
i.e. motors, drives, amplifiers and CNC Control boards.
- As Vice President Control Design at Fadal, I was responsible for all the control aspects;
in the design, production and
maintenance, which included all software, hardware and mechanical elements.
- Directly responsible for the engineering needs of the service department, both internal service issues and distributor
support; sales and service.
Through this site we are currently offering many axis, spindle and
control components for the
Legacy CNC88 and 32MP control.
With a goal to provide genuine OEM replacement parts at a
completive price for all new, remanufactured or repair parts for
your machine.
We have designed this site to also provide both interesting and helpful information for
many components related to your Fadal machine -
specializing with the Control, Axis and Spindle Drive systems.
We will be continually updating our site with
articles for service help and also points of interest, so check back
with us often.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have and questions or
comments.
Sincerely,
David M. de Caussin

One of the commonly ask questions - "What made
Fadal so successful?"
The simple answer would be, "that many important things
came together at the right time".
But the one most important contributing aspect was simply the people!
Surprisingly, many today don't realize that the company was originally started by four
people.
Francis,
Adrian,
David
And
Larry -
Francis de Caussin and his three sons.
Very typical of our average customer base, the family business.
In the beginning, Fadal Engineering, as a typical machine shop, the normal day-to-day
struggle to just survive, provided a tremendous understanding for
what our customers are going through in their business. Appreciation
for what it takes to make it in the Manufacturing Industry, but most
of all compassion for their needs;
their success is our success.
For example, we never looked at service as a means of profit; we
were just glad we did not lose too much money in service at any given point in time. Our goal was to
treat them fairly and do
what ever possible to help make our customers successful. Everything
else would work out in the long run, which it did. Even with
our employees, fairness was always the guideline.
After we starting building the machines, more generations
of de Caussins joined in the effort and we eventually had four
generations working together!
The company was really a compilation of employees, suppliers and
distributors under the direction that together provided the absolute
best customer relationships. Besides a good machine at a good
price, it is the people that truly propelled the success. Very
unique in a time when things like that were uncommon
in the business world .
